Invitation to New Altar Servers
Parents Please Respond Positively
We would like to extend an invitation to all children and youth who have already received their First Holy Communion. We are asking you to consider becoming an Altar Server at St. James Catholic Church. The ministry of an Altar Server is an important ministry and part of our regular celebration of the Eucharist. This ministry is vital and as such, requires a true commitment on the part of these young people. It requires a generous spirit, and a prayerful attitude that reflects both respect and holiness. It is a public ministry and of course, it requires practice.
We would like to invite your son/daughter to be part of this ministry. In making this request, we also want you to know that these young people will need your support and your commitment as well.
Practice for all altar servers will be offered once a month. Training sessions as well will take place in the church, given by Deacon Roger Rosenbaum. We thank you and your child for your commitment to the ministry of Altar Servers. It is a great honor to serve the Lord at the Eucharistic celebration.
Fr. Jacob and the parish community congratulate the altar servers who were recognized by Bishop Mulvey at the Altar Server Recognition Ceremony on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
